This week, your baby’s lungs are almost able to function. Air passages will finish

branching as lungs prepare to take in oxygen. During your 17th week of pregnancy:little hiccups continue, only now you might feel them.

A necessary fat called brown fat develops under your baby’s skin. This will help keep your baby warm after birth. Additional fat layers will develop later in pregnancy.

Your baby is about 4.5 to 5.5 inches long, about the length of a large orange.

Week 18:
Your baby is about 5 and1/2inches long this week
This week Your baby’s nervous system is maturing rapidly and nerves are now forming .your baby’s hearing is now getting more acute, which means now is a
good time to start talking and signing to your growing baby bump..

Week 19:
Now your baby is 6 inches long this week and just over a half pound in weight, your baby has gone through a bit of a growth spurt and is now the size of a large mango.

Week 20:
This week, your baby measures about 10inches,the length of a banana, and weighs
about 300g
You’re halfway to your due date and your baby is becoming more active every day.
you’re still waiting to feel that first exciting kick, your baby is busy flexing and stretching.
At your anomaly scan, which will take place between 18 weeks and 20 weeks, the
sonographer will measure your baby’s head circumference. This is because it can be
difficult to measure your baby’s length accurately when she’s curled up.

Week 21:
The fetus now weighs about 360 grams and is approximately 10.5 inches long from crown to heel. The eyebrows and eyelids are fully developed and the fingernails
cover the fingertips. you talk, read, or sing to your baby, expect
her to hear you. If you feel odd talking to your belly, there are other ways to bond with your unborn baby. Some studies have found that newborns will suck more vigorously when read to from a book they heard frequently.
You’re probably feeling quite comfortable these days.may be the most
enjoyable time in your pregnancy. You’re not too big yet, and the usual aches and pains associated with pregnancy like nausea, frequent urination, and fatigue are for the most part gone. Relax and enjoy while you can. .

Week 22 -23:
Many changes are taking place around now. Your baby is around the size of a small doll and looks more like a newborn, but smaller. They will be moving around more, and their movements will be stronger.
Muscles are developing, leading to increased activity.
The baby’s heartbeat is audible with a stethoscope.
Eyebrows and lashes are appearing.
The eyes are fully formed,
The lips are forming.
The pancreas is formed and continues to mature.
Your baby’s lungs are continuing to develop getting ready for them to practice breathing in the womb, and also for their first breaths after birth.bones and organs are visible through their skin.

Week 24 -25:
You are now  24 weeks pregnant.but fetal age 22 weeks to 23 weeks.
Your Baby now 12 inches long.
Baby weighs about 600 grams.
The eyelids can be seen very clearly.
The lungs are developing branches of the respiratory tree and cells that produce surfactant.
The baby practices breathing by inhaling amniotic fluid into developing lungs. The unborn baby is covered with a fine hair.
The body begins to fill out with its appearance increasingly becoming more like that of a newborn.
The muscular coordination of the hands has
improved as they sucks their thumb.
Your baby have own little routine in your womb! They will play they will also enjoy hearing your
voice at this stage,

Week 26 :
Your baby is approximately 13.38 inches long and weighs 0.9 kg
The development that is occurring at this stage may seem small and insignificant,The nerves in the ears are developing
and allowing your baby to respond more consistently to sounds.
Your baby is also continuing to swallow amniotic fluid which is fostering lung development.

Week 27-28:
At 27 weeks pregnant, the baby is now as big as a slice of pizza—about 14.5 inches long with her legs stretched out0
brain is becoming more active,eyes are opening and closing, 28week is the last week of the second trimester.
