Popsicle Stick Puzzle - Halloween!

Boo! Happy Halloween! Give your little ones a happy Halloween surprise with our fun and simple popsicle stick puzzles from your favorite Super Simple Halloween Songs! Print out an image from the song Five Little Ghosts, 10 Monsters In The Bed, or Hello, Trick Or Treat? and follow the instructions below to turn them into Halloween puzzles!

You can add in numbers and letters on your popsicle sticks for some spelling and number practice, like we did, or leave them blank to make the puzzle trickier for an older learner. Try hiding the pieces of the puzzle around the room, so your trick or treaters have to search for them before they make the puzzle. As they search, have the Halloween song you chose playing in the background! Once all the pieces have been found, it’s time to put it together, either by matching the pieces to make the image, or by placing the numbers or letters in the right order. Either way, these spooktacular puzzles make for a great and simple Halloween activity for your little ones. Let’s get started!

Things you’ll need

Print out one or all of our Popsicle Stick Puzzle images and cut it out.

Line up enough popsicle sticks to fit the image.

Add a bit of tape across the popsicle sticks. This will help hold them together while you glue on the image. Flip the popsicle sticks over so the side without the tape is face up.

Center and glue the image to the sticks. Add glue to your image and to the popsicle sticks so it sticks well, taking extra care with the edges.

If you choose, use a marker to add numbers to the sticks, or to spell out a word. We added the numbers 1-5 on the Five Little Ghosts puzzle, the numbers 1-10 on the 10 Monsters In The Bed puzzle, and the letters H-A-L-L-O-W-E-E-N to spell halloween on the Hello, Trick Or Treat? puzzle. For an older child, this might make the puzzle too easy, so feel free to leave them off!

Use scissors to trim off any excess image on either end of the sticks. Depending on the size of your sticks, you may have extra on both sides.

Flip over your puzzle and remove the tape. Then fold the sticks one at a time to make a crease line between the sticks, and with a craft knife cut along the crease to separate the sticks into pieces.
