My two kids and I adore children’s picture books, especially Halloween books!
In fact, we have a collection of picture books for every major holiday and each of the four seasons.
A few weeks ago, we pulled out all of our fall books as well as our Halloween titles from the downstairs guest bedroom and brought them upstairs to be enjoyed by all.
We’ve been reading them nightly and learning all about how pumpkins grow from seeds, how apples are harvested from trees, and why some tree leaves change color every autumn. And that’s just the fall books!
My kids (like yours, I’m sure!) are extremely excited about Halloween, so we’ve also read many books about donning Halloween costumes and going trick-or-treating and eating yummy candy – with a few ghosts and goblins and witches thrown in for good measure.
None of them are super scary books because, well, my kids are still young – 4 and 8-years-old – and not quite ready for spine-tingling titles.
What follows is a book list containing 20 of the best children’s books that celebrate fall and Halloween.
