15 Tweets that Prove the Presidential Debate Really Needed a Working Mom

Messy. Chaotic. Fiery. Volcanic. Embarrassing. A shitshow. Those were just a handful of the words and phrases commentators used to describe last night’s presidential debate.

My personal favorite was CNN host Jake Tapper’s description: “That was a hot mess inside a dumpster fire inside a train wreck,” he told viewers. “That was the worst debate I have ever seen, in fact it wasn’t even a debate. It was a disgrace.”

Viewers and talking heads heaped most of the blame on President Donald Trump, who couldn’t seem to stop interrupting his opponent, former Vice President Joe Biden, or the moderator, Fox News host Chris Wallace. Wallace, for the most part, spent the evening looking overwhelmed and in need of a stiff drink, a sentiment shared by viewers at home.

The women of Twitter, however, quickly concluded just what the evening needed: a mom—especially a mom who has been homeschooling her kids while working at the same time for months. We’re tough. Disciplined. Organized. Focused. And we’re done taking shit from anyone, from our kids to our colleagues. We know how to handle disobedient toddlers—and that’s just what we witnessed on stage last night. Tantrums.

Because we’d rather laugh than cry, here are some of our favorite funny tweets about why last night desperately needed some major mom energy:

Any mom would’ve done better.

Shut. It. Down.

Perfect solution.

Better yet, two women.

Lastly, this.
